Her Gaze
In the night, I see
twin pools of black lightning
dark flashing clouds
and behind them, that gaze
of fierce beauty
as like a hawk, she spots her prey
then swiftly, fearlessly, mercilessly dives
and I am frozen
transfixed
unable to move, or to look away
and I know beyond all doubt
that my heart is lost to her
carried away
forever
and I would have it no other way.
